1st Term NARRATIVE
This term in Humanities, students analyzed literary and historical sources to determine central ideas and provide an accurate summary based on textual evidence.  Ben often generates inferential arguments based on careful literal reading of the text, such as he did with the works of Shirley Jackson.  He analyzes language to make meaning about character, tone, and theme.  Ben utilizes these skills during class and group discussions, where he effectively conveys his theories and questions.  Ben struggles a bit putting this understanding into writing.  We are working to improve his understanding of writing prompts so that he can respond appropriately and fully clarify his thoughts.
